The Development of the Navigation System for Visually Impaired Persons
نویسندگان
چکیده
The objective of this study is the development of auto-navigation system which supports activities of the visually impaired without help of others. This system navigates the subject by using information about three sensors(acceleration sensor, terestrial magnetism sensor and gyro sensor), DGPS(Di erential Global Positioning System), maps and a traÆc data base. In our navigation system, after inputting the destination, position of the suer is estimated, the most suitable route to the destination is calculated, and the user is guided along this route. In this report, we assess the developed method which estimates the movement of the subject. Keywordsvisually impaierd, navigation, DGPS

A Qualitative Meta-analysis of Perceptual-motor Problems in Visually Impaired People
Introduction: Perceptual motor activities improve motor skills and learning. These skills play an effective role in receiving, interpreting and responding to the sensory stimuli. This study aimed to identify perceptual-motor problems in visually impaired people. Methods: This qualitative research was conducted using a research synthesis method. Therefore, the analysis unit consisted of all the...
متن کاملA Review on Blind Navigation System
This paper is the review of different navigation systems for the blind and visually impaired people. Navigator would detect an object or obstacle for blind person, guide them and help them travel in familiar and unfamiliar environments independently and safely. The main concept is that the Blind navigation system must take operation when it is needed. There are many navigation systems for visua...
متن کاملInvestigating context-aware clues to assist navigation for visually impaired people
It is estimated that 7.4 million people in Europe are visually impaired [1]. Limitations of traditional mobility aids (i.e. white canes and guide dogs) coupled with a proliferation of context-aware technologies (e.g. Electronic Travel Aids, Global Positioning Systems and Geographical Information Systems), have stimulated research and development into navigational systems for the visually impair...

متن کاملVoice Operated Outdoor Navigation System for Visually Impaired Persons
Blind People uses white canes to aid in obstacle detection & avoidance. Guide dogs can also be of limited aid for finding the way to a remote location. So our goal is to create a portable, simple less costly system that will allow Blind peoples to travel through familiar and unfamiliar environments without the aid of guides. Several guidance system has been developed for vision impaired people,...
